GabBee’s Honey

There is a lot of honey available in the world. Whether it's available at a grocery store or at a farmer's market, there is something available wherever one goes. Keeping this in mind, the problem at hand can be to make a brand stand out when there's such a large market. This is why, using research and experimentation, the main goal of this project is to have a beautiful brand of honey that will stand for itself and make people notice it.

The inspiration behind this project started in December 2021. After receiving a bottle of small batch honey created by a friend, a discussion about the logo started. On this bottle, there was a generic logo that, while it looked nice and served its purpose, didn't fit the honey. She said she would be interested in getting a logo designed that would fit her honey better.

Because honey and bees have such a deep history, there were many directions this brand could go. It will be important to consider topics such as the location and market, community, history, conservation, and sustainability - in addition to the details revolving around packaging costs and logistics. In regards to the market, the main focus is in Thousand Oaks, CA, as there can be a local small business focus. The customer base will be middle aged adults who are looking to find small batch honey from a business like this. Altogether, the final outcome is the honey brand that is deeply rooted in research.

Below are the boards used for presenting the final MA project for grading, which cover the research, design process, and final designs.
